In 1971, the Museum displayed an exhibit called “Recollections of a Younger Green Bay: The Otto Stiller Photography Collection.” The exhibit featured over 200 photographic enlargements from his family business demonstrating the changes of Green Bay from the late 1800s through 1942 including captions written by Stiller himself.
The Stiller Company was started by Otto’s father in 1898. Otto and his brothers Anton, Eugene and Ernest operated the company until 1970 when it was sold to Harley Green. Only eighteen months after the exhibit was on display Otto passed away (November 10, 1972).
Why are we now sharing this collection digitally? Due to the current “Safer at Home” order, Museum staff are working remotely and this long-awaited collection rose to the top of the list to make accessible for you to view from home.
