Veterans of all military branches are invited to join us for a free 90-minute vintage train ride. You will ride in rail cars similar to those used for troop trains during WW II. In fact one of our century old coaches appeared in the movie "Biloxi Blues" as part of a troop train.

With coaches dating to just after WW I being pulled by one of our 1950's era locomotives you will experience travel as military troops have done in the past. Additionally, the route we follow from Coopersville to Marne and back predates the Civil War. It was part of an 1848 charter granted to the Oakland and Ottawa Railroad for construction of a rail line from the Pontiac area to Grand Haven. The track was completed to Coopersville in 1858 with the first train stopping in our town that summer.

Come spend part of your Memorial Day with the C&M Railway as we take a nostalgic trip back in time. Veterans are welcome to wear their old uniforms if they wish. In addition, they can arrive early to observe the Coopersville Memorial day parade.
