Veterans Day 5K Beach Race/1 Mile Walk

About the Event

We invite you and your family to join us on November 9th, 2024, at 8:00 a.m. for a 5K Beach Race/ 1 Mile Walk to celebrate Veterans Day!! This race supports our veterans by raising awareness of suicide prevention and working towards ending it once and for all!

This double-digit number has shaped how Americans think about military veterans and their daily struggles. This staggering number has become a cry for advocates trying to call attention to suicide among veterans, especially U.S. combat-injured veterans who served in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Many injured U.S. combat-injured veterans struggle with physical disabilities, including loss of limbs and mental health issues such as Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). Fairways for Freedom® provides the opportunity for reintegration back into society through many holistic initiatives, including the game of golf.

This November 9th, Fairways for Freedom is partnering with SSI VFW Post 4092 to host the Veterans Day 5K Beach Race/1 Mile Walk. Funds raised from this event will provide LOCAL U.S. combat-injured veterans the opportunity to heal.

7:55 am - National Anthem

8:00 am - Race Start Time

9:00 am - Awards (categories announced soon)
