Teenagers (and their parents!) thrill to whipping fast or soaring high on the exciting adult rides. And it’s always a challenge to “Try Your Luck” at the games of chance and skill. “Come One, Come All” to the Vermont Maple Festival Carnival!
The Carnival is open when the Main Street Activities are underway, and remains open into the early evening.
Location: District Courthouse parking lot
1PM - 4PM: Saint Albans Museum
The Saint Albans Museum is located in a three-story schoolhouse, the former Church Street Academy, built in 1861. The building is one of several historic structures surrounding the picturesque Taylor Park green, which borders Main Street (Route 7). The Museum features comprehensive exhibits about local and regional history, including: the St. Albans Raid (the northernmost land action of the Civil War), a historic classroom, community organizations and businesses, Abenaki archaeology, Vermont medicine, the Central Vermont Railway, our French-Canadian heritage, and more! Our newest displays focus on St. Albans and World War I, as well as the agricultural history of Franklin County. There truly is something for everyone!
A special maple exhibit will be featured, and the Museum is fully accessible with plenty of convenient parking.
6-8PM: Paint & Sip
This year's Maple festival paint & sip will be held at 14th Star. The project by Claire Payne is named “Old time VT Sugaring” and it depicts a simpler time in VT’s Maple Sugaring history. The project will be painted using acrylic paint on a 16” x 20” canvas. All canvases will be pre-stenciled with an outline of the piece and Claire will guide everyone step by step through the project to ensure everyone has a great time and a successful project!
The price is $40.00 per person, which includes canvas, brushes, apron, paint and complete instruction for the project. Also includes a glass of maple beer or wine. This event should last about 2 hours.
Limit of 30 people so sign up early!
Tips for having the best possible experience:
It’s a good idea to arrive at least 15 minutes early to socialize and get settled in before the class start time.
We'll be using water based, non-toxic, acrylic paint, which can stain clothing. We provide aprons to protect your outfit, but please don’t wear anything you don’t want to get paint on. However, you will want to make sure you still look fabulous because (with your permission) we will post pics on www.facebook.com/Claire3p for you to tag and share with your friends.
