The Vegas Valley Comic Book Festival offers a variety of programming designed to appeal to all ages and interests, including film screenings, live music, panel discussions and much more.

Main Theater

11:30 a.m.: The Return of the Doubleclicks!
You may have seen them on Wil Wheaton's webshow, Tabletop, or perhaps you've watched one of their videos on YouTube. The Doubleclicks return to the Vegas Valley Comic Book Festival to sing sincerely about the things geeks love: dinosaurs, super-villains and Dungeons & Dragons.

2:30 p.m.: The Rayford Bros Batband Live in Concert!
The Rayford Bros Batband take to the stage as a musical Batman, Robin and the Riddler, playing surf, rockabilly, swing, blues and classic rock ‘n roll.

Jewel Box Theater

10 a.m.: The Geek Shock Podcast LIVE!
The Geek Shock Podcast covers the week in geek and all things related to geek culture. Join us as Todd, Andy, Jeff, Kerstan and Matt dish live on comics, TV, movies, video games, DVDs, horror, and sci-fi.

11 a.m.: Fan Films for Fun but Definitely NOT for Profit
Join Hollywood-based filmmaker and hardcore comics fan Arvin Bautista for a behind-the-scenes look at the making of his acclaimed Dazzler and New Mutants music videos, and get an A to Z look at how to develop your own fan film idea, find a team, and get your idea into the world … all on a tiny budget that you definitely won't earn back. With special guest Gentry “Dazzler” Roth!

12 p.m.: Modern (Super)heroines
Join creatrix Cecil Castellucci for an examination of female characters like Cecil's own Tula Bane, to Shade the Changing Girl and Batgirl, through icons like Princess Leia.

1 p.m.: Cosplay for Beginners
Cosplay is for everybody who wants to have a good time and share the love! Join the Las Vegas Avengers for tips and tricks on how to put together a costume on any budget and the dos and don'ts of being a cosplayer.

2 p.m.: World Building… VIVA LAS VEGAS!
Join comic book writer Russell Lissau for a discussion about why he set his next original graphic novel, THE HARDWAYS, in Las Vegas. Was it easy to create a fictional version of the city? What elements did he use? What were the challenges? What is it about Las Vegas that's appealing to a storyteller? Roll the bones and join the conversation.

3 p.m.: Feminism in Comics
What have we learned from the past, what's happening now, and where can we go in the future? Cecil Castellucci joins Las Vegas's own Very Awesome Girls for this wide ranging look at the impact of feminism in comics.

Adult Learning Center Classroom

11 a.m.: Fandom Pictionary! Ready… Set… Draw!|
Comic book creator Russell Lissau hosts a Pictionary-style game starring people, places and things from comics, movies and TV. It doesn't matter if you're a skilled artist or can barely draw stick figures, this competition is guaranteed to make you feel like a marker-wielding superhero.

12 p.m.: Digital Painting Demo
Ever look at a digital painting and think, “how did they do that?” Join Ashleigh Popplewell for a demonstration of what you can do on your iPad, Windows, or Android tablet with a few apps, a stylus, and a little inspiration.

1 p.m.: Comics 101
Those ideas stuck in your head go nowhere until you get them out. Join Las Vegas creatrix Jean Munson for a crash course in how to make your very own comics!

2 p.m.: Super Nerd Trivia
Do you know why there's a giant penny in Batman's cave? Do you know the location of the Sandy Shoals Rest Home? Join host Pj Perez for a rollicking good time as our teams (this means you) battle it out across a wide range of pop-culture topics.
