Uptown Chalk the Block

About the Event

Uptown Chalk the Block is Western PA’s First and Oldest Street Painting Festival set in quaint Uptown Somerset, PA.

It’s all about live art with 21 professional chalk artists, emerging and youth artist competitions, live music, art demonstrations, free kids activities, food and drinks, a 5k run/walk, and so much more!

Festival information, swag, registration, free chalk and more can be found at the pink tent on the diamond!

All Day: Story Stroll by Mary S. Biesecker Library : 230 Rosina Ave.
Start your visit to Uptown SoCo at the Mary S. Biesecker Public Library and stroll through the festival reading “Change Sings”

All Day: Open Chalk Zone!
Help us Chalk the town in the free chalk zone!

9AM Chalk the Block 5K Walk/Run
Take a walk or run to start your day at the festival and end the race by striding past the artwork right on Main Street!

10AM - 4PM Laurel Highlands Model Railroad Club
Check out one of Somerset’s most classic clubs – an entire building full of model trains and miniature replicas of historic rail lines. This is one of the coolest stops in Somerset – a can’t miss! There is a small admission fee to help support the club – free 12 and under, 12 and up $5.

10AM-2PM: Book Sale at Mary S. Biesecker Library
