Call to Artists: TWISTED, Online Juried Competition and Exhibition
The Art Guild invites all artists, high school and older, to submit artworks for consideration for “TWISTED” a Juried Competition and Exhibition.
Show us your twist on a great artist’s work!
Twisted will focus on your authentic creation that is inspired by a famous artist or artwork. All compositions must be original; whether you choose to reinterpret, pay homage to, or create a parody of… let’s see your best work!
No Master or direct copies accepted. No photography will be accepted in which the main concept is not your original photograph. Please create something new and exciting!
Title of your work should be formatted as such:
(Your Title) inspired by (Artist and/or Artwork Title).
Example: Nocturne Landscape inspired by Van Gogh’s Starry Night
Criteria All styles from abstract to realism are welcome. All works must be original and have been created in the last five years. References used in the creation of the submitted work must be the artist’s own, or copyright-released for use in this work. The curating committee’s decision is final.
Mediums: Included but not limited to acrylic, charcoal, collage, colored pencil, digital art, ink, mixed media, oil, pastel, pencil, photography, printmaking, sculpture, or watercolor. No Master or direct copies accepted. No photography will be accepted in which the main concept is not your original photograph. Please create something new and exciting!
Juror Of Awards: Charles A. Riley II, PhD. is the director of the Nassau County Museum of Art, an arts journalist, curator and professor at Clarkson University. He graduated from Princeton and received his Phd from City College of New York. He is the author of thirty-two books on art, architecture and public policy. He recently published Free as Gods (University Press of New England) and he is now working on Rodin and his Circle (Chimei Museum, Taiwan).

Entry Fee(s) Registration is required and non-refundable.
- Members: $25 (1-2 pieces) or $35 (an additional piece).
- Non-members: $35 (1-2 pieces) or $45 (an additional piece)
- Student members: $15 (1-2 pieces) or $20 (an additional piece)
- No more than 3 works per artist
Entries Digital submissions of up to three (3) images via email to artshow@TheArtGuild.org or uploaded to our website, should be between 1MB and 3MB each. To resize or compress your images, go to PICRESIZE.com
Please be aware that the digital images you send should look as good as possible. These will be the images that will be displayed in our online gallery. Try to photograph your image in natural light, be sure that the image is straight and that there is no glare on glass or varnished surface.
