The Boston Festival of Films from Iran

Thursday, Jan 23, 2020 at 5:30pm

Museum of Fine Arts
465 Huntington Avenue
Boston, MA 02115

Schedule of Events:

5:30 pm–7:00 pm Old Men Never Die

Directed by Reza Jamali (Iran, 2019, 85 min.). In Farsi with English subtitles.

Beautifully filmed in a remote Iranian mountain village, Old Men Never Die is the story of a group of elderly men waiting out their few remaining days together. No one in their village has died since a former hangman, Aslan, moved there out of guilt, and the fear of the families of those he executed. Tired and ready for death, the old men attempt suicide, but are continually thwarted by local soldiers—or, possibly, a divine, cosmic force.

7:30 pm–9:50 pm Just 6.5

Directed by Saeed Roustayi (Iran, 2019, 130 min.). In Farsi with English subtitles.

This crime drama explores the illegal drug trade and its consequences in modern day Iran. Up-and-coming director Saeed Roustayi offers a glimpse into the inner world of the civilians and suppliers within the system, exposing the devastatingly corrupt establishment created and fueled by politicians and the police force.

Location: Harry and Mildred Remis Auditorium (Auditorium 161)

Member: $10.00
Nonmember: $13.00
