You’re invited to join us for three days of FREE family fun during the 13th annual Summit Art Festival, held in the bustling downtown entertainment district of Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Come celebrate the power of expression featuring over 100 artists from all over the country!

Discover everything the Lee’s Summit arts community has to offer in a unique blend of art, music and delicious street fare. The Summit Art Festival is the perfect place to nourish your mind, body and creative spirit!

A rising suburb of Kansas City, Lee’s Summit has a population nearing 100,000 and Downtown has recently been named as one of four “Great Neighborhoods” by the American Planning Association (APA) on their annual Great Places in America list. The area is filled with historic buildings, restaurants, taverns and unique shops. Downtown Lee’s Summit surrounds the historic depot and Amtrak train station, and the Historical Society of Lee’s Summit Museum. As the sixth largest city in both the state of Missouri and in the Kansas City metropolitan area, residents reap the benefits of some of the best economic circumstances and quality of life of any US city. Visual and performing art programs presented by Summit Art, the Lee’s Summit Symphony and the Summit Theater Group contribute to a vibrant community that embraces cultural arts initiatives. The unique combination of historical preservation, with progressive attitudes and entrepreneurship, help create a dynamic sense of place, making downtown Lee’s Summit the ideal location for our fine art event!

Student Art Pavilion: Don’t miss this large pavilion showcasing over 300 original works by local middle and high school students, as they start off on their path of creative expression. Children will be able to enjoy free face-painting on Saturday courtesy of area art students.

Music: Entertaining and diverse, eclectic music showcasing local songwriters will be provided by several local musicians throughout the entire weekend at various performance locations.

Food and Drink: Enjoy a variety of delicious food, refreshments and cocktails available for purchase from local vendors. Relax for a tasty bite in the outdoor food court, sip and stroll while enjoying the exhibits.

Artist Amenities: Artists LOVE participating in our festival – our experienced and friendly team of Summit Art members and volunteers strive to make each artist feel welcome! We take care of you so you can focus on your customers. All booth locations are accessible by vehicle for easy set-up and tear down. Early check-in options are available on Thursday night. Festival management has over 13 years of experience with extensive festival promotion, marketing and advertising. We provide all our visiting artists access to our famous “Artist Hospitality Lounge” – including a variety of snacks and refreshments. On Saturday, all artists are treated to lunch at one of our delicious food vendors. Electricity is included in the booth fee and there is a large volunteer base (including booth sitters) to assist artists. Free, nearby artist parking simplifies loading and unloading and the festival has 24-hour security. Over $3,600 in cash prizes will be awarded.
