Please call before attending any community events. It is likely that they will be postponed or canceled as a result of the coronavirus. You can find CDC coronavirus information at cdc.gov/coronavirus; AARP has additional resources at aarp.org/coronavirus.
NLI’s most ambitious restoration to date hosts a complex of habitats and rare species. Volunteer tasks include control and removal of bush honeysuckle and garlic mustard or other invasive species, planting/collecting seeds, helping in the greenhouse, planting plugs, general maintenance, bird and mammal monitoring, prescribed burns, and set-up for special events. Enjoy the beauty of the prairies and wetlands while you work.
Individuals or groups who wish to participate in this volunteer Stewardship Day should contact: Zach Grycan, Director of Stewardship, for more information and to confirm participation at 920/912-4338, zgrycan@naturalland.org
You are welcome to help during the entire time listed or for part of the day. Please let Zach know what time to expect you.
What to bring: NLI provides tools, gloves, and water (and sometimes special snacks!). If you plan to stay through lunch, you may want to bring a sack lunch. Dress for the weather. Long sleeves, pants, and sturdy boots are recommended.
