He has criss-crossed America multiple times, conjuring memories of Woody Guthrie to Arlo Guthrie, Pete Seeger to Bob Seeger, the Kingston Trio to the Kings...he covers all genres across all generations. His guitar has played alongside icons like Willie Nelson, Jerry Jeff Walker and Kinky Friedman. As a solo act, he has opened shows for Donovan, Harry Chapin, Tom Chapin, Poco, The Little River Band, David Crosby and many other music legends.
His craft as a musician laid the foundation of his songwriting career in Nashville, ca. the early '70s. His unique guitar style, which wraps around his voice like a passionate dance partner; from ballroom to blitz, tango to the twist, the waltz to the watusi. His original works, inspired by the muses of his life, cover every emotion of human existence. His work is, in a word, authentic.
And then there's delivery...he relates to the room, no matter the venue or capacity. The audience warms to him quickly, as the toes start tapping to a familiar tune, the hands clap the backbeat, and the voice joins the chorus..."bom ba ba!" Requests are encouraged, participation is welcome and the good times always seem so good...
He is Brian Clarke...and he is the 2020 St. Louis Magazine A-LIst Top Vocalist and Top Musician.
