Sharing Our Stories (SOS) is a support group for women diagnosed with breast cancer within the last 18 months. SOS meets for eight sessions on Mondays from 5-6:30 p.m. in the Baptist Health Louisville Cancer Resource Center, located in the Charles and Mimi Osborn Cancer Center, 4003 Kresge Way, Suite 100. Parking is free.
Participants will develop coping strategies to take them from surviving cancer, along the path to thriving as they share in their stories and offer support. Various topics are discussed, including the emotional aspects of cancer, the value of making connections to avoid isolation, survivorship care and lymphedema awareness. There will be numerous opportunities to learn about community resources and support.
Breast Nurse Navigator Tina Toole-Harper, RN, and Community Cancer Resource Nurse Sister Barbara Nicholas, RN, serve as group facilitators.
Participation is free and limited to 12 members. For more information, or to register for the group, call the Cancer Resource Center at 502.896.7325.
