About the Event

The third race of the Trail Series starts at the San Angelo State Park at Burkett Trailhead. This Texas State Park is home to several of the SARL trail races, including the Crazy Desert Trail Race and the Dinosaur Run. Race 3 starts at the Burkett Trailhead, a 5-minute drive into the South Entrance of the State Park.

Course Info:

The course changes from year to year depending on recent weather, trail conditions, and how those marking it are feeling that week. Though this map will give you an idea of what to expect, don't use this as your guide while running.

Awards:

Series Age Group Awards: Age group awards are given only after the third race. At the end of the series (after the 3rd race), medals for top 3 male/female in the series are given out for both distances, AND medals for top 3 male/female in each age group are given out for both distances. Age groups are: 0-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80-89, 90-99, 100+

Finisher Medals: Finisher medals will be given out at each race to each finisher. No finisher medals will be given after or before/after race day: you must finish the race on race day to earn one.

Overall Awards: At each of the three races, overall awards for Top 3 Male/Female are given out for both distances based on gun time.
