About the Event
We're closing out 2024 with three fantastic New Year's Eve Comedy shows.
Presented in partnership with Scamps Comedy, the show is hosted by Cape Cod's Favorite Comedian, Jim Ruberti, along with headliner Brad Mastrangelo and the hysterical Matt McArthur.
The show is appropriate for adults (18-plus), and there will be a cash bar. Doors will open one hour before each show. Tickets are $37, $35 for seniors, and $32 for members, available online (ArtsontheCape.org) or at the box office.
Barnstable native Jim Ruberti returns to host, as he's done at the Cotuit Center for the Arts since 2019. This year was a big one for him, as he joined the lineup for the Ranting Parents Comedy Tour, which played theaters in Massachusetts this summer and fall and plans more shows in the spring. He also performed at the Cape Cod Comedy Weekend and made his debut at Steve Sweeney's Comedy Den in Quincy. Ruberti has been entertaining people for well over 30 years, starting as a child actor in the theaters of Cape Cod. In addition to New England, he has performed in Florida at the Laugh Out Lounge in Winter Haven and Comedy Key West.
The ultimate story-teller, headliner Brad Mastrangelo's unique routine never fails to hit home with audiences of all ages and backgrounds. The following rave reviews attest to his talent. "Brad's high energy makes the crowd feel like they are on a carnival ride that they wish would never end," wrote The Salem Evening News. Steve Morse of the Boston Globe added, "Brad's street-smart humor makes everybody in the audience feel like they grew up next door to him.” Vince Longo, General Manager of the Cape Cod Melody Tent, noted, "It's not too often that someone grabs my attention like Brad did. He was hysterical, likable, and most importantly, clean. We can't wait to have him back." Brad's high energy brand of family and observational comedy has earned him rave reviews from the top comedy clubs in Boston, Hollywood, Atlantic City, and Las Vegas comedy clubs. He is a favorite on many cruise lines and at corporate events.
Matt McArthur discovered his love of stand-up comedy as a college student, and since has been slaying comedy audiences at clubs and colleges all over New England. In addition to being a comedian, Matt also became a professional bagpiper at a young age, and since has been performing at churches and cemeteries all over New England. Unofficially, he is considered the top bagpiper-comedian in Boston. He's also the only one.
