Come join us for one of the most iconic races in Southern Arizona! Sabino Canyon located in the Coronado National Forest, is one of the most beautiful desert canyons in the American southwest and a true jewel of the Tucson community. This unique 7.4 mile race is designed to capitalize on the majestic nature of Sabino Canyon to provide a unique opportunity to experience the challenges of a great race in a truly magnificent setting.

Early start time (6:00pm) for 7.4 mile walkers/joggers. (we will do this start as soon as the last tram leaves the main road). This start is for entrants aged 60 and above, and any entrants who need more time to finish before nightfall. Entrants under 60 years of age who opt for the Early Start will not be eligible for age-group prizes or Grand Prix points. All entrants remain eligible for raffle prizes.

Main race, 7.4 miles (6:15pm)
Sunset is at 7:24pm. Aid stations and finish line will be picked up 105 minutes after the start. If you plan to be out there longer be aware you’ll be on your own. Carry a flashlight!

Course Info:

7.4 mile race:
The out and back 7.4 mile paved course along Sabino Creek crosses nine bridges and provides the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the Catalina Mountains as the sun sets against them. The course is uphill on the way into the canyon and downhill on the way back, with aid stations at approximately miles 1.6, 3.7 (turn-around point), and 5.8.

7.4 mile Early-start:
The early-start event will begin approximately 15 minutes prior to the main race entry and is for entrants aged 60 and above, and any entrants who need more time tofinish before nightfall. Entrants under 60 years of age who opt for the Early Start will not be eligible for age-group prizes or Grand Prix points. All entrants remain eligible for raffle prizes. This event will be timed just like the 7.4 mile race, and the results will be included on the SAR website.

Please, no bicycles, strollers, skateboards, roller-blades, or pets allowed on the course.

Race Awards:

Awards ceremony will follow the race at approximately 7:30pm.

Awards to the top 3 overall and top masters male and female finishers and the top 3 male and female finishers in five year age groups. The following age groups will be used: 19&Under, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+

Cost:

7.4 Mile (SAR Members)

$30 before 2/10/21

$35 on or after 2/10/21 - until race is full

7.4 Mile (Non-SAR Members)

$35 before 2/10/21

$40 on and after 2/10/21 - until race is full
