Folks, we wish things were different. But until public health and safety officials say otherwise, we are subject to the same rules and regulations currently stipulated by the State of Pennsylvania and Allegheny County regarding outdoor crowd gatherings due to the pandemic.

Haughty Tale…Carvers to create Massive Pumpkin-Scape of: Monongahela Monster!
Four of the Country’s Best Master Pumpkin Carvers Team Up to sculpt continual carving of famed creature Roaming the mighty Mon.

Standing next to their cucurbit canvasses are Master Carvers Dean Murray and Danny Kissel who return to Pittsburgh for the third consecutive year. They’ll be joined by Greg Butauski, below left and and Patrick O’Brien to tackle the tall task of turning giant pumpkins into one uniform and titanic image.

50 feet long and 10 feet deep…Carvers Will Position Pumpkins Together to Form one Integrated Scene!
The featured display at the Pittsburgh Monster Pumpkins PopUp will be the 50-foot long x 10-foot deep carving of the region’s river fable creature known as the “Monongahela Monster.” Headline carvers: Dean Murray, Danny Kissel, Greg Butauski and Patrick O’Brien are attempting a rarity in carving circles by bunching pumpkins together, large and small, to make the final rendering appear as a continuous image. The carvers are all renowned performers in this unique field of “temporary art ” and will arrive several days before the event to begin the work—picking, scraping, etching, chiseling and fashioning raw pumpkin into incredible 3-D imagery. Individually, the quartet is widely known having appeared around the world, on telelvision and in major festivals everywhere.

Splashy sprays…3 of the Region’s Best Graffiti artists will complement carvings with some Prismatic pumpkin paintings of their own!
GRAFFITI GUYS… LEFT TO RIGHT: Max ‘Gems’ Gonzales, Shane Pilster and Scott Brozovich will use their collective artistic talents to spray paint two monster sized walls of pumpkins!
In addition to painting several giant pumpkins, the artists will attack two, 10-foot high, 50-foot wide walls whose canvass will be actual, but mini-sized, pumpkins.

Brilliantly bolstering the massive carving display will be the expressive artistry of the highly talented trio of Max “GEMS” Gonzalez, Shane Pilster and Scott Brozovich. Together the 3 artists will be showcasing their “spray painting” skills to vividly complement the Halloween and Monongahela Monster carving themes with portraits and paintings reflecting and accentuating these motifs.
