Directed by Monty Cole

"Still waters run deep"

The gods have made a chess game of Ulysses Lincoln’s life, ripping the soldier from his young family and forcing him to face his past as he endeavors to return home to Oakland. Thumping with a vibrant pulse of music, black odyssey reimagines and reclaims Homer’s ancient story for our times with playwright Marcus Gardley’s imagination-igniting poetic style. A play that literally speaks to the skies will come to thrilling life in the outdoor Allen Elizabethan Theatre, as director Monty Cole leads us on a poignant and epic journey of personal, cultural and national history, through the ravages of Hurricane Katrina and war in Afghanistan, and from Heaven to Earth.
