About the Event
Join Piedmont Opera and the Winston-Salem Symphony on New Year's Eve for an early evening celebration to ring in 2025. Piedmont Opera favorites and UNCSA alums, Jodi Burns, Tichina Vaughn, and Jonathan Johnson will deliver unforgettable performances. Our own Maestro James Allbritten will conduct the beautiful Winston-Salem Symphony as we bid farewell to 2024 with holiday classics and stunning arias. And, you'll still have plenty of time to get to your next party!
Jodi Burns
Soprano
Jodi Burns is a talented soprano known for her "plush voice and rich expressivity". She has performed in various operas and concerts, including roles in Silent Night, The Elixir of Love, and The Rake's Progress. Burns is also a voice instructor at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.
Jonathan Johnson
Tenor
Jonathan Johnson is a talented tenor known for his dynamic performances in both opera and concert settings. He has performed with various opera companies and symphonies across the United States. Some of his notable roles include Tamino in The Magic Flute, Alfredo in La Traviata, and Nemorino in The Elixir of Love.
Tichina Vaughn
Mezzo-Soprano
Tichina Vaughn is an acclaimed American operatic mezzo-soprano known for her powerful and rich voice. She has performed in many of the world's leading opera houses, including the Metropolitan Opera, the Royal Opera House, and the Semperoper Dresden. Vaughn has a diverse repertoire, excelling in roles such as Amneris in Aida, Eboli in Don Carlo, and Azucena in Il Trovatore.
