Elvis Presley who was arguably the world’s greatest entertainer, was born in Mississippi. His history has been preserved and you can’t miss it!
Sunday, we travel to the city of his birth – Tupelo. After checking into our hotel, we will get some dinner. Afterwards, we will have some time to walk about town or do some shopping. On Monday morning, we will tour the birthplace of Elvis and other sites where he walked. We will have lunch prior to leaving town and continue our tour by driving to Memphis, TN.
We will check into our hotel near Graceland for 2 nights. After dinner, we will go see the unusual pyramid shaped Bass Pro Shop, with time to shop! On Tuesday, we begin our day with a tour of Sun Studio, where Elvis recorded his music. Next, we will drive past Levitt Shell - where Elvis performed his first paid concert. In the afternoon we will spend time at Graceland to see Elvis’ home. You can also see his airplanes, automobiles, and other Elvis collectables.
That night, we drive to Beale Street, where Elvis spent time with musicians gathered there. This is one of the most Iconic streets in America. It is 3 blocks of restaurants, shops, and nightclubs. You will have time to explore this fun area and to have dinner on your own. Wednesday morning, we will drive past a couple of other of Elvis’s homes, prior to departing Memphis. On our way back to Jackson, we will stop for lunch. We arrive back in Jackson in time for the Wednesday night special event – an Elvis tribute artist (separate admission).
