Parade Grounds Entrance on State Route 436. Bring a lunch. (3 hours, 1 mile)
Explore the world of rotting logs and stumps to better appreciate the role of fungi in forest ecology. Learn to recognize which fungi rot which wood. Visit communities of lichens and mosses on the surface of bark. Three different woodlands will be searched. This is a continuation of a theme from three workshops held this past winter on fungi, lichens and mosses. Bring a lunch.
Pre-registration is required for each program by contacting the Humphrey Nature Center, 585-493-3682. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, all programs will follow social distancing and face covering guidelines. Face coverings are always required in all enclosed structures.
