ABOUT THE WRITER
Liza Birkenmeier was recently the Tow Playwright-in-Residence at Ars Nova, where her play Dr. Ride’s American Beach House premiered in 2019. She is collaborating with director Katie Brook on Islander, a verbatim NHL piece, which has been postponed at NYTW Next Door. Her musical collaboration with Jill Sobule has been postponed at City Theatre.
ABOUT THE DIRECTOR
Trish Harnetiaux is a playwright, filmmaker and podcast creator. Current projects include The MS Phoenix Rising with Playwrights Horizons, a narrative podcast about the relaunch of the cruise ship industry following one ship’s attempt to rebrand using avant-garde theatre. She’s developed and presented work at Soho Rep, Ars Nova, Clubbed Thumb (current commission), New Georges and more. Residencies include MacDowell, SPACE on Ryder Farm and Yaddo. Harnetiaux’s short film You Wouldn’t Understand will be part of the 2021 Sundance Film Festival.

She is also a core leader in Everybody Black (@everybody.blk) and she was recently selected for the inaugural list of “Women to Watch onBroadway.” Jhanaë’s credits include – Broadway: Caroline, or Change, Slave Play, Hadestown, Gary, Six Degrees of Separation, and The Cherry Orchard. ABOUT THE PRODUCTION ASSISTANT
Devorah Kengmana is a New York based Lighting and Projections designer. She has worked with Capital Repertory Theatre, KEEN Company, Voyage Theatre Company, Crossroads Theatre Company, SpeakEasy Stage Company, Portland Stage Company, and the Kansas City Actors’ Theatre, among others.
