Rokafella, known for her Break dance mastery, is a multi-faceted artist into all things B-Girl and Hip hop dance, music, Graf art, fashion, film and theater by way of the Bronx and Afro Puerto Rican expressions. She is a renowned dancer, poet, musician, filmmaker and entrepreneur who is a pioneer for B-Girls and B-Boys on stages across the world. She lectures about Hip-hop, womanhood and the Afro Latin essence, representing the positive image of a woman confident in both her Puerto Rican and Hip-Hop cultures.
Mikala Sakai is a native New Yorker, born and raised in the Bronx. With a visionary gift of movement, she weaves stories through beats and her interpretations of lyrics and the stories they tell. She has a passion for teaching and enjoys helping to shape and inspire young dancers that have an interest in dance and the culture.
Series co-hosts Kathleen Adams and Lah Tere will engage Rokafella and Mikala Sakai in a fascinating and empowering conversation on the steps they have taken to walk and perform with confidence and determination. Come Walk a Mile…with Rokafella and Mikala Sakai!
