The second trip in our new State Park field trip series will be a visit to McKinney Falls State Park. Less than 12 miles south of the Texas capitol building, the Park includes 682 acres of land at the confluence of Onion and Williamson creeks. According to eBird, 244 bird species have been reported year-round, with 168 species during fall migration months. We will bird along well-developed trails through woodland and riparian areas along Onion Creek. We will meet at the park at 8:00 am and will bird until 11:00 am.
Registration is required for this trip, and further details will be provided to registrants prior to the trip date. Registration is limited to 12 participants. There is a $6 entrance fee for adults to enter the park unless you have a State Park pass. There is no charge for children 12 years old and younger.
