Merryspring Nature Center
30 Conway Road
Camden, ME 04843

Marine biologist Heather Hamlin speaks about the impact of ocean acidification on Maine's lobster population at Merryspring Nature Center on Tuesday, May 21 at 12:00 pm.

As the earth's climate changes, more carbon dioxide is present in our oceans. In this presentation, Dr. Heather Hamlin speaks about her research on how lower water pH affects lobsters' life cycle, what it could mean for Maine's lobster industry, and predicting long-term trends on acidification in the Gulf of Maine.

Dr. Heather Hamlin is an Associate Professor in the School of Marine Sciences at the University of Maine. She studies how changes in the environment impact the health of economically important aquatic species.

This lecture is part of the Spring Talk series at Merryspring. Admission to Tuesday talks is $5, with free admission for members of Merryspring.
