Squaw Valley Chapel Garden Concert
The historic Squaw Valley Chapel is an iconic worship space at the head of Olympic Valley under the towering rock walls of Tram Face and is a new venue for the Lake Tahoe Music Festival. Beside Squaw Creek, the chapel garden offers an intimate space, perfect for experiencing classical music as the sun sets over the peaks.

In this quiet space, Maestro Rolek will conduct Great Cities Inspiration, following three classic composers as they explored three of the world’s greatest cities. Joseph Haydn wrote Symphony 93 as one of twelve symphonies he composed for his first visit to the great city of London. Copland created Quiet City initially as incidental music for a play following a troubled character in New York, later reworking the parts into a stand-alone musical entity. The Lake Tahoe Academy Orchestra performance will feature Joseph Brown, trumpet, in this piece. And long before either London or New York inspired Haydn or Copland, Mozart celebrated France’s capital city in his Symphony 31 “Paris”.
