Huntsville Independence Day Celebration

7:30 am Flag Raising at the Flagpole near the stage.

8:00 am: Fun Run. Meet at the Northeast corner of the park. Please Contact Race Chair Brenley (801) 310-2991 if you would like to sign up a head of time.

8:30 am – 9:45 am: Neighborhood Pot Luck Breakfast.  Please bring something to share; breakfast casseroles, fruit, eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes & fixin’s, breakfast burritos, etc to the Southeast Bowery area. There will be plugs for you to keep your food warm. There will be drinks and paper goods.

10:00 am – Parade beginning with the beautiful Horse and Flag brigade provided by our Sherrif mounted Search and Rescue.  A sight to behold.  Please join in singing the National Anthem as they ride by.  The beginning of the parade will follow after the flagmen are in place at the front of the Parade. For those who would like to be in the Parade, please contact Parade Chairs: Mark and Jeanette Goodson: (801) 564-4585 There will be prizes for the best-Decorated Bikes.  Please contact them for details. All are welcome in the Parade.  All participants please remember this is a family parade.  No indecency will be permitted. No businesses in the parade this year. We encourage Family floats, lawnmower brigade, School groups, Veterans and current servicemen and servicewomen, float, kids with bikes and streamers, horse riders (at the back), police, sheriff and firemen and we will be introducing the 2019 Grand Marshals.

Veterans Chair: Hillary Evans (801) 518-1770. We would like to recognize our Veterans and currently serving servicemen and women in the Parade and at the Patriotic Program. If you sign up, we will provide a ride in the Parade and we would love to have you ride with us.  Please contact Hillary with your name, the war you served in or which arm of the Military you are currently in and if you will be joining us in the Parade or at the patriotic program at 6:00pm either the 29th or 30th.

11:00 am until 2:00 pm: Old-fashioned Games in the Park. Tournaments TBD by number of sign-ups: volleyball, basketball, Pickleball.  Tournament Chair: Colton McKay call to sign up (801) 866-9053. Lawnmower races. Lawn Mower Race Chair: Larel Parkinson (801) 791-1113. Historical re-enactment/ Participation on the Park Stage. Locals booths with locals running them.  Food, Retail, Face painting, Games, etc..
