House of Trepidation:

Dr. Belle was Traveling the East Coast with his beloved wife. Eventually, they drifted to Indianapolis, IN. During this time period houses were small, cozy and hard to come by. Each home seemed to carry a distinct character. A small house in Indianapolis wouldn't satisfy the urges of Belle. A more massive secluded storehouse would be needed. Belle and Elizabeth began searching. That is when they found this place at 1929 S Meridian Street. Just outside of downtown Indianapolis, which would later be known as the perfect location! Having a vast warehouse would allow multiple treatment areas for patients. Massive space would greatly increase the number of patients he could "comfort". Then House of Trepidation, Purgatory, and Crossroads of Carnage was born. These now haunted settings are certainly anything but ordinary. Each of these 3 spaces played an important role in allowing Belle's experiments to take place. He quickly wanted to get settled after arriving in Indianapolis. So what began as an abandoned warehouse, quickly molded into Dr. Belle's sinister clinic. When Belle migrated into downtown Indianapolis he brought a copious amount of dark demons and spirits with him. The spirits and dark energies were invisibly attached to Belle. They welcomed themselves as a permanent fixture into Eugene and Elizabeth's lives. No matter how far they traveled, they soon found their home infested with odd behavior and strange activity. It is with consistent evidence that many years of spirits and energy have found comfort within the walls of their home. When you are approaching the front entrance of the House of Trepidation, it's no secret that an uncomforting feeling can be felt and heard. You will suddenly feel as if you are amongst the company of many strangers. Although as you look around high and low they can’t be seen, only heard. While you are a guest at Trepidation, please be cautious as the sinister demons are with you. They are watching from behind the walls. They can be seen overhead and sometimes from below. Always make certain not to invade their space as they will be disturbed and restless with visitors…

Crossroads of Carnage:

At House of Trepidation we offer 3 indoor attractions, and Crossroads of Carnage is in between Trepidation and Purgatory. Crossroads of Carnage is an intense labyrinth entanglement of dark hallways and corridors. Crossroads of Carnage is only one of the attraction amidst the gloomy and dark warehouse where Belle has developed the House of Trepidation. This forsaken building is home to the same paths that many of Dr. Belle’s patients traveled. A journey here will take you through the scream filled dark rooms where the restless and uneasy spirits were left behind. As you travel through the laboratory these invisible spirits can be seen, felt and heard today. Watch out as you approach the operating room, as things are not always as they seem to appear. Ever wondered how medicine gets tested? As you quiver through the cages you will pass many of the remains of Belle's experimental creatures. Pay not attention to the patient that did not follow the Dr's orders, as he sits and awaits in the electrical chair. Finally you will stumble upon a territory that became known as Patients Revenge. This is where all of the souls who were strong enough to with stand Belle's medical practices will be eagerly waiting your arrival. The Crossroads of Carnage is full of drifting souls and spirits of many of Belle’s lifeless patients that walked in but never walked out. See, there was always a line of patients waiting to be seen. However there was rarely a plight where people would be well and able to leave the practice of Dr. Belle. This house that deserves the name Crossroads of Carnage, is a horrifying trip through an assembly of the ruins left behind by Belle and his experiments. When you enter, make sure you are nice to the nurse, as you may wan to her to help you. As a visitor, plan to be extremely uneasy as you witness the crypts that hold thousands of demented demons and ghosts. Be sure to always watch your left side and do everything you can to stick together, especially in the dark…

In the late 1940's Dr. Belle realized he had an immediate need for housing. As patients who had traveled to visit him, were treated and the treatment was unsuccessful, they needed a place to "rest". Little did they know, that their health likely would never improve enough to allow them to return to society. Condemned quickly became home to many patients.

What is Condemned?

Condemned is the abandoned building next to Belles' Clinic (Crossroads of Carnage). This is the Asylum that Dr. Belle began using to house his patients as experiments began to go wrong. Housing patients presented a whole new set of issues, Belle learned that the resident patients had began to mutilate each other, consistently fighting amongst each other often resulting in death. During your visit to Condemned, you will quickly learn about the severity and evolution of Dr. Belles' experiments. The rapid rate of dis-membered body parts, chronically & severely ill patients suddenly made the need for "patient storage". This posed a serious concern and subsequently, Condemned was accidentally born. Belles' history has spiraled into an uncontrollable addiction to manipulate human bodies and now Condemned will help to cover up his experiments.

What is my experience at Condemned?

Condemned is the space that quickly became a key component to Dr. Belle and his practice. Once you enter, you are going to experience the craziness that has evolved from a variety of mentally unstable patients who have taken up residency, some are mentally ill, physically ill or just plumb crazy. You should know that many of the patients were not able to overcome their recovery or simply weren't fit to return to society, so the spirits of many who can't be seen but can only be heard. Condemned has become a place to dispose of the bodies, and the souls quickly made Condemned their new found home. The citizens of Indiana were oblivious that this area was the abyss consequence of Dr. Belle’s high death rate amongst his patients. The local neighbors had no idea that were even residents living here. When you enter Condemned, make sure to pay close attention to the voices you hear. The things you see behind the walls will also create an uneasy feeling. These voices and unexplainable happenings are the result of thousands of people who were treated by Dr. Belle. They come from all over the Midwest and East Coast, each telling a different story. Some are old, some are young, they are made up of men, women and children alike. All of these souls and angry spirits have found themselves captured here. The multitudes of  Earthbound Spirits are noticeably very resentful of Belle. Due to his lack of incumbency and respect for human life, he likely has coordinated the largest secret mass killing to have ever taken place in Indianapolis. As you make your way through the dark passages, don’t let the deranged phantoms see your weakness for they will expeditiously scavenge your energy and you too might find yourself in the same damnation with no hope of leaving. The Sinister energy found deep within the bellows of Condemned are unexplainable, almost like an invisible force. No matter what the reason, if you happen to converge with Belle, NEVER turn your back…
