About the Event
Wichita's favorite running tradition returns Saturday, November 23, 2024 for the 49th Annual Honeysuckle White Wichita Turkey Trot!
As in previous years, we will offer a 10 mile, a 2 mile, and a Tiny Turkey Trot presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas for children 6 and under. The 10 mile begins at 7:45 am with the 2 mile following at 8:10 am and finally the Tiny Turkey Trot starting at 10:00 am. All participants will receive a long-sleeve shirt, bib number and medal, with the first 2,000 to register receiving a Honeysuckle White Turkey coupon worth up to $35.00!
The long standing tradition of Turkey Trotters supporting the Kansas Food Bank, is in full swing once more. You may donate money during registration.
Additionally, they're needing donations of peanut butter to support local Kansans this season. Please bring a jar of peanut butter (or two!) on race day to support the Kansas Food Bank. ALSO: if turkey isn't your forte, the Food Bank will gladly accept your Honeysuckle White coupons.

The start/finish line of all the races is on Douglas just in front of Century II. For 10-mile runners there will be a time limit of 3 hours on the course. 10-mile runners who fall behind the 3 hour pace can choose to finish at their own risk and must move from the street onto the sidewalks and obey all traffic signals along the way. In the occurrence of lightning, the races will be delayed 30 minutes from the last visible lightning strike. Please listen for any announcements on race day.
Event Info:
Century II does have indoor restrooms and we will also have portable toilets just outside the building on Kennedy Plaza.
There will be pace signs held by volunteers at the start. To decrease the amount of congestion on the course, please line up according to your projected pace for the run. The race is chip timed and so your time will start when you cross the starting line. Be sure to wear your bib on your chest on the outermost layer of clothing to ensure the most accurate time possible.
Please run safely, listen to the directions of course marshals and police, thank the volunteers, and have fun! The course will be marked with directional arrows and cones at the turns. There will be a lead bike and volunteers along the course.
At the finish, be sure to smile, cheer for yourself and everyone around you, and enjoy the morning! There will be a photographer at the finish line to capture your accomplishment.
The 10 mile and the 2 mile are both USATF Certified and record eligible (10 mile pending certification for 2023 and KS17018TJD). Times will be sent to the Kansas Road Running Records after the race. Please note that on a certified course, a GPS watch will read long. This is due to the certification process and the procedures that are followed. To pace yourself accurately, please refer to the mile marker signs along the course.
There will be water stations along the course. The 10 mile will have four stations at approximately mile 2.25, 4.25, 6.75 and 9.2. The 2 mile will have one water station at mile .8.
