Elgar's Cello Concerto is undoubtedly one of the most impassioned and emotionally expressive pieces of music ever written. Brought to life by guest conductor, Nadège Foofat, each note weaves its way into your soul, captivating and moving you to places that defy description. In fact, we dare you not to cry! And when played by the equally dazzling and expressive soloist, Claire Bryant, checking your own emotions will be no small feat. And while Elgar's lush piece is the capstone, we begin with Jennifer Higdon's soaringly tender and contemplative blue cathedral which will set your soul to singing. The program concludes with Shumann's illustrative and idyllic Symphony No. 3.
