Community Outreach

The Heart of Virginia Festival is a unique and quality festival of the arts by the community for the community. In addition to the arts, food, and crafts, we open the festival to community organizations that are also helpful to the community they love. These organizations take time beyond their daily schedules to assist their community in many different ways.

Food Festival

The Heart of Virginia Festival offers a wide variety of good eats including kettle corn, pizza, international foods, BBQ, seafood, desserts, and many, many more! Visit the Festival Food vendors in one of our Food Court locations:

- The corner of Main and Fourth Streets
- The parking lot just west of the corner of Main and High Streets
- Near the intersection of Randolph, Buffalo and High Streets
- The upper part of High Street.

Art Show

Being the attraction that started made the Heart of Virginia Festival what it is today, the Art Show began 40 years ago and was so successful that, a few years later, all of our other Festival attractions grew around it. Over the years, the Art Show has remained the centerpiece of the Heart of Virginia Festival, bringing artists from all areas of the east coast in order to provide high-quality art to the Central Virginia area.

The Art Show is centered along High street on the shaded lawns in front of Longwood University's Rotunda.

Craft Show

The Heart of Virginia Festival transforms Main Street and High Street into a craft lover's dream. The Outdoor Craft Show features a wide variety of crafters with quality items for home decor, family fashion, garden accents, and more! One thing you can guarantee is you will see unique items, as all crafts must be handmade, homemade, and original ideas of the crafters themselves!

The Outdoor Craft Show lasts the entire day portion of the Heart of Virginia Festival.
