Join us on Saturday, May 4, 2019 for an evening of soul food and music with Big Black (Singer-Songwriter/Drummer) joined by Shelley Yoelin (Tenor Saxophone), Doug MacDonald (Guitar) and Bill Sasals (Bass) in a musical jam performance. The gumbo, prepared by Big Black himself - a master chef of New Orleans style cooking - will be served in between music sets made up of jazz standards and original songs. Most widely known as a master of world percussion and the first to integrate the African drum into modern calypso and jazz music, Big Black has performed with icons Lord Flea, Billy Cook, Muddy Waters, B.B. King, Dizzy Gillespie and many others.
