Essential Music Theory Every Ukulele Player Should Know

Ever heard terms that you wish you really knew what they were talking about? Like key signature, transpose, flat, bridge, what is a 7 chord, etc...  In this workshop, we will discuss and apply the essential music theory every ukulele player should know. We will learn these terms by seeing how they work in specific songs. Got a burning question that you think is covered in music theory. Bring it to class! Plus, you'll get the chord charts that we will use as examples.

6:30-7:45 pm: Ashley Orlando

Providing Positive Feedback Without Push Back

In this workshop, we will learn techniques and keywords which will actually encourage the person you're critiquing to want your advice and feedback. We all know one or more friends or people in our uke clubs who could benefit from a little help. It could be they know deep down they need a little direction, or maybe don't realize they could use some work in a particular area. You would love to be that catalyst to help them improve, but you have no idea how to point it out to them. This workshop is for you

8:00-9:15 pm: Matt Dahlberg

Become the Player You Want to Be

Practice to become the player you want to be. (Not the one you think you should be!)

All too often players spend their time practicing what they think they should do instead of enjoying what they want to do. In this session we will learn what makes for a well balanced practice plan and how to create a routine that keeps you interested and fulfilled on your ukulele journey.
