Enjoy free, high-quality musical entertainment on Sunday nights in June, July and August at the Baker Park Band Shell. From tribute artists and oldies to afrofunk and bluegrass, Summer Concert Series showcases professional musicians from a wide range of musical backgrounds. Previous artists have included jazz legend Charlie Byrd, Spyro Gyro’s Scott Ambush and Julio Fernandez, country chart-climber Cleve Francis, Bluegrass favorite Railroad Earth, L.A.-based latin group Incendio, bluesman Tom Principato and many more.
Zydeco-a-Go-Go, the Mid-Atlantic’s premier practitioners of Louisiana dance music, are bringing the zydeco party to the people! Cajun 2-steps blend with Creole zydeco and classic New Orleans rhythm & blues in a spicy gumbo of Louisiana dance music. Their performances feature lyrics sung in English, Spanish, Cajun and Creole French, set to a beat that keeps people dancing all night long.
Founded in 1992, the all-star group boasts colorful musicians with decades of experience. Whether they’re playing a large festival or a small town fair, a performing arts center or a block party, a bowling alley or a swanky fundraiser gala, a back-yard BBQ or one of those non-stop everybody’s-up-and-dancin’ wedding receptions: you know it’s gonna be a wild and swingin’ bayou boogaloo pitch-a-wang-dang-doodle-all-night-long zydeco dance party!
Join us in welcoming this high-energy band to the Baker Park Band Shell on August 22, 2021 and “Let The Good Times Roll!”
