Rossville to Piperton Section of the Wolf River
Memphis, TN 37501

Please call before attending any community events. It is likely that they will be postponed or canceled as a result of the coronavirus. You can find CDC coronavirus information at cdc.gov/coronavirus; AARP has additional resources at aarp.org/coronavirus.

This is a 6.4 mile section of the Wolf river between the Fayette County cities of Rossville and Piperton, Tennessee. Participants on this trip will be paddling a wide, unchannelized portion of the river. Individuals will experience a natural un-cluttered class one river with meandering curves and bends. The channel is clearly visible through the entire section and participants rarely become disoriented or venture off course. WRC has intentionally not put up any of the familiar blue and white canoe trail signs, thereby helping to keep this section as natural as possible. Downed trees and strainers are present and can be easily avoided by individuals with a minimum of paddling experience.

The outfitter for the paddle will be Mike Dawkins. If you need to rent equipment, please contact Mike at mikedawk@comcast.net (email) or cell/text at (901) 485-2531. Please contact Mike as soon as you complete your event registration to discuss equipment rental options.

Trip Leader: This trip will be lead by our Wolf River Conservancy River Guides.

For Those Bringing Boats: You will meet our Guides at 8:30 am at the river access ramp on the east side of Highway 194 and just north of the City of Rossville, TN.

For Those Not Owning Boats: Please contact our outfitter, Mike Dawkins at (901) 485-2531 or by email (mikedawk@commcast.net).

Parking Disclaimer:  You should be able to leave your vehicle in the relatively safe Put-in and Take-out parking areas, however, WRC cannot guarantee conditions at the time of launch.  WRC is not responsible for loss or damage to private property.

Cost:

This program is free for current Wolf River Conservancy members.  Non-members will be charged a paddle fee of $25.00 (per person), which may be paid upon registering.  Please register below by 5:00 pm on Wednesday, March 3.
