FilmQuest, Utah's largest genre film festival, returns for its 6th season!

Celebrating the very best in genre cinema, FilmQuest takes place over 9 days in Downtown Provo. The festival showcases over 190 star-studded and incredible films from around the globe, with filmmakers and celebrity VIP's attending the festival en masse. Nightly parties, daily events, and filmmaking workshops with top industry pros and experts from around the country only add to the incredible lineup on display.

All screenings, labs, panels, workshops and events will be held at Velour Live Music Gallery, with other events around Downtown Provo unless otherwise noted.

All are invited to the festival, and all guests are available to mingle with reasonable prices that include student discounts and full festival pass options.

Schedule:

12:00pm: ”All Roads Lead to Provo at Dawn” – Horror Shorts Block 14
The final shorts block of 2019 sees an incredible selection of horror themed shorts bringing us down the home stretch with the short films: A Purgatory Story, Atomic Ed, ‘Rainy Season, Re-Home, Tingle Monsters, You’ll Only Have Each Other, Young Blood,’ and the music videos No Going Back and The Cicada Tree

2:00pm: “The Spierig Brothers” Workshop & Panel
Modern genre filmmaking legends in the making, the directing twin brother duo Michael & Peter Spierig, sit down and give us an in depth look into working in Hollywood, getting their films made, going from indies to studio films and more. Find out the secrets behind their films Daybreakers, Predestination, The Winchester House, and Jigsaw and what else they have in store!

3:00pm: “Daniel Isn’t Real” – Saturday Feature Film 1
Daniel Isn’t Real brings the heat. After a stellar debut at SXSW, we present the Utah premiere of one of 2019’s most hyped genre films. Presented with the moody sci-fi Lovecraftian short Prefigured.

6:00pm: “Blood Vessel” – Closing Night Feature Film 2
The World Premiere of the Australian feature film Blood Vessel pits WW2 POW’S vs Vampires on a Nazi Destroyer. What more can you ask for? Nothing! Screens with the short film anthology Fatale Collective: Bleed and the timely Lili.

8:00pm: Closing Night Red Carpet

9:00pm: Awards Show Winners & Secret Nominees Announced at Velour

10:30pm: Post Awards Show Red Carpet
Photo-ops with your Awards and Friends

11:00pm: Closing Night Party at Provo Underground, Downtown Provo
Food and drink, plus a photo booth, at the Closing Night party where you can say goodbye one last time in proper fashion as we celebrate in style and close the door on the 2019 FilmQuest.
