FilmQuest, Utah's largest genre film festival, returns for its 6th season!

Celebrating the very best in genre cinema, FilmQuest takes place over 9 days in Downtown Provo. The festival showcases over 190 star-studded and incredible films from around the globe, with filmmakers and celebrity VIP's attending the festival en masse. Nightly parties, daily events, and filmmaking workshops with top industry pros and experts from around the country only add to the incredible lineup on display.

All screenings, labs, panels, workshops and events will be held at Velour Live Music Gallery, with other events around Downtown Provo unless otherwise noted.

All are invited to the festival, and all guests are available to mingle with reasonable prices that include student discounts and full festival pass options.


11:00am: Filmmaker Luncheon at Good Thyme Restaurant, Provo

1:30pm: ”Laughter Comes in Many Shapes and Sizes” – Comedy Shorts Block 9
Some of the best genre flavored short film comedies in the world will tickle your funny bone and have you begging for seconds. Includes the short films: Asparagus Tips, Ava in the End, ****-Man, Five Course Meal, Keloid, My Dinner with Werner, Open Wide, Proper British Sex, Rubbish Robbers, Stop / Eject / Rewind, We Got a Monkey’s Paw, Who You Are

3:30pm: “Filmmaker/Screenwriter Speed Dating” Event
Get to know your fellow filmmakers, make friendships, and pitch each other on your latest projects so you can take home some new collaborators from FilmQuest and cultivate your next potential opportunities.

5:00pm: “Wild Boar” – Thursday Afternoon Feature Film 1
Take a journey into the bowels of a demented pig-man haven with the grindhouse flavored Wild Boar. Accompanied by the apocalyptic fantasy-western Worship.

7:00pm: “Behind the Screams” Lab
Mick Strawn, Production Designer & Art Director for such films and tv series as A Nightmare on Elm Street, Hercules, Xena, and more takes us on a fun filled journey through being an art director in Hollywood.

8:00pm: ”Taste the Rainbow… Again!” – LGBT Shorts Block 10
A dynamic, and provocative selection of films from the LGBT community that celebrates love, diversity, monsters, revenge, and the worst therapy session you’ve ever had. Includes the short films: Boo, Chasing the Dragon, Conversion Therapist, Killer Date, The Office is Mine, We Die Alone

11:00pm: “Making Monsters” – Thursday Night Feature Film 2
A midnight madness delight, the feature film Making Monsters will have you seeing internet fame and celebrity in a whole new light! Accompanied by the bombastic Brazilian short film Dead Teenager Seance.
