Field Trip: Mill Creek Preserve

In 2002 the Alachua County Forever program made its first conservation land purchase, the Mill Creek Preserve, 1,190 acres of deep hardwood forest containing the southernmost stand of beech trees in North America.

Meet county biologist Steve Hofstetter in the parking lot of Hitchcock’s grocery store on US-441 in Alachua to carpool to the Preserve.
