Schedule:
1:00pm - 2:30pm: Isaiah Sharkey - Concerts on the Green - $40
A native Chicagoan, 28-year-old Isaiah Sharkey spent his early years living in Cabrini Green. Perhaps as a precursor to his future career, he lived with his parents in a row house on a street that is now named for Curtis Mayfield.

Coming from a musical household, Isiah was introduced to music at the age of four, he decided he wanted to be a guitarist and asked his parents to purchase one. Shortly thereafter, Isaiah started learning music under the close introduction of his father, Michael Sharkey. He would learn about different musical genres/styles from gospel music – which came from growing up in the church – to jazz, R&B, blues, rock and funk music. It wasn’t long after that Isaiah would become noticed by other musicians in the Chicago area for being a young new talent. Soon after, he started doing concerts in the church as well as sitting in local jazz club jams.

At the age of 14, Isaiah, along with his fathers and brothers, released their first album entitled “Skyline.” This album displayed Isaiah’s ability to play covers and some transcriptions from greats like Wes Montgomery and George Benson.

Shortly thereafter, he started his recording career and served as a sideman for gospel artists such as Smokie Norful, Donald Lawrence and Vanessa Bell Armstrong. He also toured as lead guitarist with Ronald Isley and recorded two albums with him.

5:30pm - 7:00pm: Slim Man - $20
Slim Man, born Timoteo Camponeschi, discovered music at an early age learning to play trumpet, piano and guitar before studying at the Peabody Institute of Music in Baltimore, MD. He later went on to form the band BootCamp and performed alongside The Tubes, The B-52s, Squeeze, Split Enz, Johnny Winter, and many others. In the late 1990s, Slim Man started another band, Bona Fide, an instrumental group whose combination of funk and jazz brought forth the Number One single “X Ray Hip”. Bona Fide also received the Best New Artist Award at the Smooth Jazz Awards. They’ve released 4 CDs, the latest produced by Marc Antoine. He released his first CD “End of the Rainbow” and has since then released 12 CDs, with a new CD “Young at Heart” on the Way. He was named Best Jazz Vocalist at the Coachella Music Awards in 2016 and 2017.
