Barry Goldwater (1909-1998) is best known as a U.S. senator, a man who dedicated his life to Arizona and was a gifted photographer. He was one of Arizona Highways magazine’s first and foremost photographers and his favorite subjects included the Grand Canyon and the Native peoples of Northern Arizona. In collaboration with the Barry & Peggy Goldwater Foundation and Arizona Highways magazine, Scottsdale’s Museum of the West is proud to premiere Photographs by Barry M Goldwater: The Arizona Highways Collection presented by SRP. This exhibition will feature the largest collection of photographs by Senator Goldwater and include intimate family photos and personal items. The exhibition runs Jan. 6 – March 27 2020. Thursdays, November-April: Scottsdale residents with proof of residence (e.g., driver’s license, utility bill) receive FREE museum admission. (Please note: The museum is closed on Thanksgiving Day. Admission rates apply May-October.
