Tall Grass Gallery presents an exhibit overflowing with images of the animal world – creatures great and small, of land, sea and sky. Wildlife to family pets. Rescued to endangered. Observed, invented, imagined.

In Growl, Howl, Moo, Baa, Roar, 60 artists share works in a range of styles, media and techniques through a mix of interpretations – realistic, expressive, symbolic, abstracted, designed.

Photographers, painters, printmakers, sculptors, and mixed media, digital, glass and fiber artists have created portrayals of animals in all their complex variety and beauty.

The exhibit is filled with whimsical versions of imagined beasts; warm, detailed portraits of pets who reside beside us as family members; clandestine records of forest and jungle dwellers who silently peek back at us from their secluded nests, perches and dens; and glimpses of oblivious herds and flocks gathered in faraway corners of our world, to be discovered by just a fortunate few.

Artists included in the exhibit are: Tony Abboreno, Jay Anderson, Rene Hugo Arceo, Sheldon Bachus, Judi Boehner, Pat Cheffer, Jacob Dalen, Julie Dekker, Rita Dianni-Kaleel, Pam Eberlin, Susan Flanagan, Mary Flynn, Andrea Fox, Irene Ganas, Jeanne Garrett, Janet Glazar, Glenn Granat, Margi Hafer, Bernadette Hanacek, Linda Haynes, Susan Henke, Christen Huss, Heidi Jachna, Jean Janssen, Susan Johnson, Betty Kirk, Steve Kost, Caryl Hull Leavitt, Suzy Lyttle, Claudia McCarthy, Joe McIlhany, Margaret McKerral, Barbara Meier, Jennifer Meyer, Chuck Michaels, Bob Nardi, Carol Neal, Sandy Newell, Julia Oehmke, Kathryn Parenti, Kate Patterson, Gloria Payne, Stuart Pearson, Gary Price, Joan Quirke, James Reichel, Lia Santini, Richard Schmidt, Penny Shnay, Perry Slade, Doug Stein, Susan Straub-Martin, Carol Thorner, Carla Toth, Catherine Trezek, Nance Tucker, John Voris, Colin Walsh, Don Widmer, Lidia Wylangowska.

Visitors to Growl, Howl, Moo, Baa, Roar will be informed and entertained by the artists’ visions of so many creatures that are beautiful, mysterious, and delightful.

During the second half of the exhibit, several of its artists will provide smaller and lesser-priced works as part of the Gallery’s Holiday Sale, focusing on items perfect for gift-giving. Other artists familiar to Tall Grass audiences will also have works included in the sale.
