An exhibit by artist Kevin Firme.

Kevin Firme’s pastel drawings and forged steel sculptures reflect shapes and movement of plants in the natural world. The structural relationships in the compositions are drawn from Kevin’s interpretation of the Arrow Arum plant, Peltandra virginica, found in the wetlands of northwest Indiana.

As we begin 2020, Kevin Firme’s art reminds us of the words of author, naturalist, and “Patron Saint of the Swamps” Henry David Thoreau. “…My temple is the swamp…I seemed to have reached a new world, so wild a place..far away from human society.” Rejuvenating, uplifting and inspiring the spirit, the works of Kevin Firme guide you to the pristine beauty surrounding us.
