This is an exhibition of work from the past two cohorts of the Leslie-Lohman Museum Artist Fellowship, a program designed to empower and support queer artists. While, for very practical reasons, queerness is increasingly understood in relation to survival and hope, this exhibition posits the equal importance of retaining the ongoing potential for queerness to be a negative, even destructive force that works against the status quo. Artists include: Michael Childress, Max Colby, Kristine Eudey, Rodrigo Moreira, Eric Rhein, Vanessa Rondon, Catalina Schliebener, Gwen Shockey, Buzz Slutzky, Kiyan Williams, Seyi Adebanjo, Desiree Almoradie, Lola Flash, Nash Glynn, Carrie Hawks, Sal Muñoz, Christopher Nuñez, Caitlin Rose Sweet, Boris Torres, Eduardo Velázquez, Jason Villegas, and Frederick Weston.
