“Phoenix Rising” group exhibit by the Palouse Women Artist at Artisans at the Dahmen Barn
“Phoenix Rising” is the theme for the annual Palouse Women Artist exhibit featured are over 30 pieces of art in a variety of 2-d and 3-d medium. The arts were listing as non-essential during the pandemic and many galleries were forced to close their doors for 3 to 6 months. Art is more the essential it is healing and a way to show emotion. The emotion and struggle show in the art by the Palouse Women Artist. Some artists cursed covid some were content for the solitude alone to create.
The Palouse Women Artist group strives in providing women in the arts with a strong, enduring support system as they pursue the arts personally and professionally.
Creating opportunities for women in the arts community. Organizing solidifying power and strength in numbers for women in the arts. Sharing energies and passions with our fellow women in the arts. Continuing education through incorporation of outside artists ideas and techniques, as well as contributing and sharing ideas and techniques within the group. Motivating women everywhere to pursue artistic endeavors with integrity. Fostering an environment of openness, and willingness to accept diversity and individual expression. Supplying a resource/model for our community to examine contemporary women artist’s and their issues. Giving a voice for the impact of feminism on art and the art community.
