We'll celebrate all things wooly from noon to 4 PM as visitors explore the process of turning wool into cloth using 18th century techniques. Enjoy hands-on activities such as spinning, dyeing wool, weaving, and crafts for kids. Sheep & Shawl is sponsored by the Soule Homestead Education Center, the Weavers' Guild of Boston and Plymouth County 4-H.
On the same afternoon, Alden House visitors can explore the history of cheesemaking in early America with Pilgrim Foodways, a hands-on program facilitated by Plimoth Plantation's manager of trades, crafts, and domestic skills. Pilgrim Foodways is supported by the Duxbury Cultural Council and the Duxbury Food & Wine Festival.
