Smoking kills more people than alcohol, AIDS, car crashes, illegal drugs, murders and suicides combined — and thousands more die from other tobacco-related causes — such as fires caused by smoking (more than 1,000 deaths/year nationwide) and smokeless tobacco use.
In Indiana, over 11,000 Hoosiers die each year from tobacco use or exposure. 1 in 5 adults smoke. Approximately 15% of pregnant women smoke. The current smoking rate of nearly 23% leaves the state ranked 44th among all states.

The meetings are aimed at providing support from a Tobacco Treatment Specialist combined with free nicotine replacement and the support of others dealing with the same concerns.
