About the Event
The Día de los Muertos is a celebration of life that originated in central and southern Mexico and dates back 3,000 years. The free festival celebrates this cultural tradition and attract the local community to enjoy local food, music, kids’ activities, shopping from local vendors and much more.
The annual Día de los Muertos Festival is hosted by the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Louisiana at Lafayette Square on Saturday, November 2nd, from 12:00 - 6:00 PM, and features local food, music, kids activities, an ofrenda, shopping from local vendors, costume contest and much more.
Free admission to this family-friendly event with music, food, local vendors, family fun, and an altar to honor your loved ones!
Come dressed to celebrate! There will be a costume contest!
