Set to the surrealist poetry of Max Jacob, Francis Poulenc's chamber cantata Le bal masque (The Masked Ball) offers a fantastical escape from reality alongside Igor Stravinsky's lively Basel Concerto for String Orchestra. Works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart frame the concert, including his popular Piano Concerto in D Minor.
