The Cancer Support Group provides support to cancer patients, caregivers, and families during and after treatment. The weekly group meets at the Cotton O’Neil Cancer Center and is a source of continual support during a cancer experience. It is open to adults age 18 and older.

At the group, you will learn how cancer affects all aspects of your life, including physically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually. You will also learn from others who have faced cancer, and be able to make connections with those who have it.

Other topics covered include navigating the health care system and how to focus on self-care. You will also be taught ways to help promote connections and communication with your current support system of family and friends.

The group is led by the Cancer Center’s social workers. No reservation is required, and you don’t need to bring anything with you other than a willingness to connect with others and learn more about you or your loved one’s illness. You can attend as often as you like and for as long as you need.
