Schedule of Events

8:00 pm-10:00 pm: Science Trivia Night
We're joining with Aeronaut Brewing Co. to present Science Trivia Night, so gather your friends, roommates, and Zoom-mates to test your knowledge of science and technology facts and oddities. Form a team or compete on your own.

6:00 pm-7:00 pm: Microscopic Coloring Book – SEM Explorations
A scanning electron microscope (SEM) is an exciting tool for exploring the tiniest microscopic details of the world around us.
Help us add color to our growing collection of SEM images of everyday (and not so every day) things in our community-wide project. Visit our online gallery of black and white images, select one or more to download, then colorize them to life following our easy-to-follow instructions. Once finished, upload your image to our SEM image showcase to share your creations!

7:30 pm-8:30 pm; The Color of Science
Join us for a conversation on equity and inclusion in science with Edie Stringfellow, Senior Director of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, MassBio, as she leads a panel of scientists, including physicist Priyamvada Natarajan, Professor of Astronomy and Physics, Yale University, as they respond to the themes and questions raised in Young Nerds of Color.

3:00 pm-3:45 pm: A Culinary Pharmacy: A Celiac Diet
Join Create A Cook for a demonstration of Gluten-Free goodies! This class is celiac-friendly chocolate therapy as we make Flourless Chocolate Torte and Chocolate Tofu Mousse! Learn how to make delicious desserts with different textures that can be enjoyed together too!

9:30 am-10:30 am: Career Exploration with MilliporeSigma
It's MassBioEd Career Exploration Week! Meet scientists, learn about their careers, get a virtual tour of amazing STEM companies!
MassBioEd is hosting a series of one-hour virtual career events from April 12th – 16th. Each session will showcase a different life science company or academic institution and will give participants the opportunity to learn about careers integral to that host institution. Each session will include a career panel or presentation and an interactive lab tour or demonstration. You may attend any or all of the events. Indicate your choices on the registration page.
These events are best for high school students, early college students, educators, and parents.
