Schedule of Events

8:00 pm-9:30 pm: BOSLab Virtual Open House
BOSLab is a science lab open to the public and aiming to make science accessible to everyone! Join us to learn more about the DIY biology movement and your local community lab. Come meet our members (teens and adults) and learn about the many ways you can participate and join our community of bio-makers!

6:00 pm-7:00 pm: Microscopic Coloring Book – Colorization Tutorial
A scanning electron microscope (SEM) is an exciting tool for exploring the tiniest microscopic details of the world around us.
Help us add color to our growing collection of SEM images of everyday (and not so every day) things in our community-wide project. Visit our online gallery of black and white images, select one or more to download, then colorize them to life following our easy-to-follow instructions. Once finished, upload your image to our SEM image showcase to share your creations!

4:00 pm-5:00 pm: Virtual Idea Hub: Cranks and Cams
Join in as we build, test, and connect moving parts to create a community Virtual Chain Reaction. In this session, learn how to use cams to convert rotational (crank-turning) motion into linear (up-and-down) motion. Test movements and materials—there is a lot of room for creativity and experimentation. Attend this session on its own or return each week to add more complexity to your creation!
